Some of our most notable value added services include the following:
- Daily Truck Updates– prepared each morning and circulated by 9am PST showing status of all Customer trucks from “dispatched” to “delivered”, so Customers are aware of where their loads are and what they will have available to sell on what day.
- Door to Door Service throughout North America– Save time by having UWT as a single point of contact to monitor the status of your shipment from start to finish, throughout Mexico, the United States, and Canada. Customers will also benefit from consolidated billing which eliminates the time and expense associated with multiple carrier invoices and payment expenses.This program also allows Customers to access new “direct” purchase opportunities with the knowledge that UWT can handle the shipment door to door to ensure an expedited, safe, and secure delivery.
- Carrier Relations– UWT treats our Carriers in a fair and professional manner. Every prospective Carrier undergoes a qualification process that includes evaluating insurance requirements, equipment, and references, to name a few. Once approved, UWT assists in the administration of document requirements and the management of finances. Carrier’s performance is measured on a per load basis by our in-house carrier rating system, and top rated Carriers are given priority over loads.
- Solid Financial Structure– UWT’s strong financial structure allows us to provide one of the best and fastest advance and payment terms of any transportation provider. We recognize the cash flow requirements of Carriers, and realize it is our responsibility to ensure that our Carriers’ financial needs are met; this structure promotes a trusted partnership that is committed to the safe, secure, and on time delivery of your products.
- Managing Exceptions– while we work to avoid any disruptions in delivery commitments, mechanical breakdowns and weather issues occur. We are committed to pursuing whatever avenue we must to try to maintain on time delivery. As we are dealing with perishables, our primary concern is expediting delivery. Much of our performance is judged on how “we manage the exceptions.”
- Knowledge– The trucking industry, particularly produce, is extremely multi-dimensional. Numerous factors must be considered when transporting goods: equipment requirements, product specifications, customs, to name a few. Our in-depth knowledge ensures our ability to effectively and efficiently manage shipments so they are set up for success.
- Accessibility– UWT’s dedicated Customer Service Department controls and takes responsibility for all communications, loading details, and appointment scheduling to ensure our drivers have the necessary support to concentrate on a safe and secure on time delivery. Our bilingual English and Spanish offices are staffed 7 days a week, 24 hours a day with round-the-clock complete access to all load details and specifics, making information readily available for Customer or Carrier questions, updates, issues, or last minute load changes.
